Households with annual incomes up to 160% Area Median Income (AMI) qualify for rebates up to $3,000 each year. For more information on equipment and eligibility go here. • Income-Qualified rebates are only available to full-time Summit County residents, however rental units are welcome to participate with landlord approval. Up to $4,000 is available for income-qualified households within Breckenridge town limits.

Xcel Energy Rebates 2025
Xcel offers rebates for many upgrades for high efficiency units. Boilers. furnaces, smart thermostats and more can qualify for different rebates. in 2025 they are offering a $2,250 (this number could double or triple depending on size of equipment) rebate for installs of cold climate heat pumps. State of Colorado Tax Credits 2025
The state of Colorado is offering a pass through tax credit for installs of air-sourced heat pumps in 2025. You will receive
a discount of $500 off your estimate, there is no paperwork required on the customers end.
Federal Tax Credits
Starting in 2023 through the end of 2032, all homeowners will be eligible for a 30% federal tax credit on the total cost of buying and installing their new heat pump, with a maximum credit of $2,000. These tax credits will not reflect until the following year of install, once taxes are due for that year. More information is available on how to claim those credits here.
